Terms of Service
1. Introduction
Welcome to EkoKuljetus.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the EkoKuljetus platform, website, and related services (collectively referred to as the "Platform").
EkoKuljetus provides an online service that connects individuals who need to transport items ("Customers") with drivers who are already traveling in the same direction and have available space in their vehicles ("Drivers").
By using the Platform, you agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use the Platform.
2. Nature of the Platform
EkoKuljetus acts solely as an intermediary that connects Customers and Drivers.
EkoKuljetus:
- Does not provide transportation services
- Does not employ drivers
- Is not a party to transport agreements between users
All transportation agreements, arrangements, and responsibilities are made directly between the Driver and the Customer.
EkoKuljetus is not responsible for the performance, reliability, or conduct of users.
3. User Accounts
To use certain features of the Platform, users may be required to create an account.
Users agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Keep login credentials secure
- Be responsible for all activity under their account
EkoKuljetus reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or misuse the Platform.
4. Listings
Users may create listings on the Platform to either:
- Offer transport services (Drivers)
- Request transport for items (Customers)
Users may edit or delete their listings at any time.
Listings should be removed or marked as completed once the transport has been successfully completed.
For recurring routes (for example daily commuting), listings may remain active until removed by the Driver.
Users must ensure that all listing information is accurate and not misleading.
5. Responsibilities of Drivers
Drivers who offer transport through the Platform agree to:
- Provide accurate route and travel information
- Transport items carefully and responsibly
- Ensure their vehicle is suitable for the transport
- Follow all applicable laws and transport regulations
Drivers may transport multiple items during the same trip if sufficient space is available.
Drivers are solely responsible for:
- Taxes and reporting income
- Required licenses or transport permits
- Compliance with local transport regulations
- Any legal obligations related to transportation services
6. Responsibilities of Customers
Customers requesting transport agree to:
- Provide accurate descriptions of items
- Specify approximate size and weight of items
- Provide correct pickup and delivery locations
- Communicate clearly with the Driver
Customers are responsible for ensuring that items are properly packaged to prevent damage during transport.
7. Prohibited Items
The Platform may not be used to transport illegal or dangerous items.
Users must not request or transport items including, but not limited to:
- Illegal substances
- Weapons or explosives
- Hazardous or toxic materials
- Stolen goods
- Any items prohibited by law
Drivers have the right to refuse to transport any item they consider unsafe, illegal, or improperly packaged.
8. Payments and Fees
Payments between Customers and Drivers are processed through the Platform.
EkoKuljetus charges a service commission for facilitating the transaction. The remaining amount is transferred to the Driver according to the Platform's payment process.
Users agree to pay all applicable fees associated with using the Platform.
9. Insurance
Drivers are responsible for ensuring that appropriate insurance coverage is in place if required.
EkoKuljetus does not provide transport insurance and is not responsible for:
- Loss of items
- Damage to items
- Delays in transport
Users are encouraged to discuss insurance and liability directly before agreeing to a transport arrangement.
10. Map and Route Information
The Platform may display approximate starting locations on maps.
Drivers should provide route details within their listings.
Drivers may include links (such as Google Maps) to clarify their planned route.
Map information may be approximate and should not be relied upon as exact travel data.
11. Cancellations
Transport arrangements are agreed directly between the Customer and the Driver.
If either party needs to cancel a transport, they should notify the other party as soon as possible.
Any cancellation policies, refunds, or compensation must be agreed between the Customer and the Driver unless otherwise specified by the Platform.
12. Disputes Between Users
EkoKuljetus is not responsible for disputes between Customers and Drivers.
In case of disputes regarding:
- Payment
- Item condition
- Delivery issues
- Delays
Users should attempt to resolve the matter directly with each other.
EkoKuljetus may provide support where possible but is not obligated to mediate or resolve disputes.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, EkoKuljetus shall not be liable for:
- Damage or loss of transported items
- Delays or failure of transport
- Conduct of users
- Inaccurate listings or descriptions
- Any indirect or consequential damages arising from the use of the Platform
Use of the Platform is at the user's own risk.
14. Platform Availability
EkoKuljetus does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Platform.
The Platform may be updated, modified, or temporarily unavailable due to maintenance or technical issues.
15. Changes to the Terms
EkoKuljetus may update or modify these Terms at any time.
Updated Terms will be published on the Platform.
Continued use of the Platform after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
16. Language
Users may translate the Platform into their preferred language using the automatic translation features available in most browsers or devices.

Transport terms
Transport-specific terms
Delivery and recipient availability
The recipient must be available at the agreed delivery time and location.
The driver is not obligated to wait for more than 15 minutes after arrival.
If the recipient is not present within this time, the delivery is considered unsuccessful unless otherwise agreed.
Leave-at-location (at recipient’s risk)
If agreed in advance, the driver may leave the item at a location specified by the recipient.
In such cases:
- the driver may take a photo of the delivered item
- the delivery location and time may be recorded
Once the item is left at the agreed location, responsibility transfers to the recipient.
The platform and driver are not responsible for loss, theft, or damage after delivery.
No obligation for redelivery
The driver is not required to arrange a new delivery or return the item unless separately agreed.
Any additional delivery attempts may require a new payment.
Driver responsibility
The driver has the right to refuse any item that appears unsafe, illegal, or not matching the description.
Sender responsibility
The sender is responsible for accurate description, packaging, and legality of the item.
Platform role
The platform acts only as an intermediary and is not responsible for damages, delays, or lost items. By using the platform, users agree to these transport-specific terms
